Are there any Adobe Creative Cloud Substitutes? Why would I consider them?

Price Increase
Adobe announced an increase in November of 2023, to take place in March 2024. This raises the creative cloud suite access to all 20+ apps to $59.99 from the previous $29.99.
Learning Curve
Adobe has many tutorials because there are so many features. Spending a year learning about each app can take away from creating your vision. When the possibilities are endless there is no need to change software down the line or limit what you want to produce. Without a basic understanding you may be limited. With a basic understanding you may feel like you want to try everything.
Usage Amount
If you use adobe to create your imagination and vision in from of you a couple times a month then it may feel questionable. If you use it once every 3 months it may feel like a stretch. If you create a sustainable living and beyond with adobe using it weekly then the price increase comes across as any easy value.
Mobile Vs. Desktop
Many apps are only available on desktop while others are on mobile and desktop. This often is due to differences in coding required to make a software run on a mobile device. Different time spent making sure the features are the same on each device takes time and lines of code. This means even if your device can handle the app it may just not be written for that. If that is an issue creating an app yourself that is comparable to adobe would be a great choice. Often it’s easier to integrate creative resources from desktop into websites anyways.
Integration
Fonts are included with the subscription. Using the fonts on different platforms and maintaining consistency is a learning curve.
Are there Any Adobe Substitutes?
Direct rivals of Adobe are scattered less comprehensive. This means yes a list of applications can be found with the intent of photo editing, graphic design, video editing, PDF signing, illustration, and more. Nothing I saw was a direct competitor with a substantial value offering. If you want access to the lists of what I compared and my results check the blog for new posts. When I finish comparing each of the 20+ apps ill link in below.
Why would I consider an Adobe Substitute?
I want to make sure the expenses on my spending plan are serving my business well. I shifted focus from developing my bussinesses to home renovations for 7+ months. I paused canva 3 months ago. The whole time i continued paying for Adobe. I spent time learning the apps. I did not create time looking to gain money from using the software. The increase made me question if I needed to pay for it, if I wanted to pay for it, if I used Adobe enough, if I felt I was going to gain enough value from the subscription, & if i was missing out on a lot of good substitutes by partnering with only Adobe.
My Decision
When I checked the progress I have made learning the features alongside the value substitutes offered I decided Adobe is well worth the money. I invested in learning something that is organized and well put together. I enjoy the interface and what I can create. I know there is always more on the horizon. I know the company is reputable. As an appreciation for their hard work making our imagination come towards reality, I choose to keep my subscription.
